Privacy and your information

This page explains the information used by the PackageMaps application.

Accounts and posts

Your account stores your name, email address, account preferences and a protected password representation. Your password is not stored as readable text. Route descriptions, general route locations, member names, comments and reviews are public. Listed contact values are shown to signed-in members. Do not put private contact details or sensitive information in public descriptions.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies keep you signed in and protect form submissions. Your browser remembers your selected language. Draft information stays in the current page while you create an account. Closing or reloading the page may lose your draft. Clear the draft or close the tab on a shared device.

Saved route alerts

Saved searches contain your chosen places, dates and item category and are linked to your account. Matching emails are sent only after your email is verified. You can remove each alert in your account or confirm an unsubscribe using the link in an alert email.

Usage measurement

When enabled, first-party measurement counts actions such as searches, account creation and contact clicks to improve the site. It excludes form text, email addresses and exact searched locations. A temporary identifier distinguishes activity within a page session; it is not stored as a tracking cookie. Measurement respects the browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Usage records are retained for up to 90 days. Hosting and security services may separately keep access logs.

Service providers

Map tiles are supplied by OpenStreetMap services, and location searches use the configured geocoding provider. Email delivery uses the site’s configured email provider. Optional posting subscriptions use Mollie. These services receive the information needed to perform their function. Following an external provider link takes you to that provider’s website and privacy practices.

Managing your information

You can delete your own route posts and saved alerts from your account. For other account or privacy requests, use the operator contact details below when available.
